Man killed in crash involving malfunctioning Tesla in Missouri

Missouri police say a Tesla with a mechanical problem caused a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 on Sunday that claimed the life of a man. Officers from Independence, Missouri, were called to the west lanes of I-70 at Little Blue Parkway at 8:17 p.m. on Sunday to investigate a collision with several vehicles. The researchers said that a 2019 Tesla had a mechanical problem that caused the vehicle to lose power and stop in the middle of the interstate. As a result, police said other vehicles on the highway could not avoid the collision with the Tesla. Tesla driver Terry L. Siegel, 74, of Lake Winnebago, Missouri, was killed. Police said the incident remains under investigation.
