Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash that Sparks Brush Fire in Fallbrook


A man has died in a collision with a vehicle that caused a small fire in Fallbrook, California Highway Patrol reported on Tuesday.
Around 22:50 on Monday, a Chevrolet Tahoe veered off Reche Street and hit a tree between Live Oak Park Road and Green Canyon Roads, according to the CHP.
It was not immediately clear what caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, he was the only passenger in the vehicle.
Firefighters arrived shortly afterwards to contain a small fire with vegetation caused by the accident, the North County Fire Department said. Crews blocked Reche Street overnight.
