Man dies in collision on Interstate 10 Freeway in Fontana; suspected drunk driver arrested | News

A man walking on Interstate 10 in Fontana died after being struck by a vehicle driven by a suspected drunk driver on July 24, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At approximately 11:49 p.m., a 2008 Buick was traveling on westbound I-10 east of Sierra Avenue at an unknown speed.

The vehicle collided with an unidentified pedestrian who was walking within the lanes of a prior single vehicle accident on westbound I-10 in Sierra.

As a result of the second collision, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Then, a third vehicle collided with the first two vehicles.

The deceased person was identified as Adrian Llamas-Navarro, a 25-year-old Pomona resident, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division.

The driver of the Buick was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
