Man arrested for breaking into home, stabbing in San Joaquin County

A man broke into someone’s home in San Joaquin County and stabbed them in a seemingly accidental attack, authorities said. Timothy Gimeno, 39, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, robbery and burglary. It happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday near Peltier and Kennefick Streets in Aqaba, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies say Gimeno broke into a house and stabbed the victim several times before running with his car keys. The victim was taken to hospital and is expected to recover. By the time authorities arrived, they said the perpetrator had broken into a second house and was hiding in a garage. Authorities describe Himenos as transient by Stockton with nothing to do with the victim.
