Police arrested a suspect on Saturday after a man died during a scuffle in front of a National City market.
A black suspect and a white victim confronted each other for unknown reasons shortly before 1pm outside the Big Ben market on East 8th Street, according to OnScene.TV.
The suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim twice in the back before getting into his vehicle, a black Chrysler 200. The victim went to a nearby Union Bank and the suspect chased him into the car, deliberately throwing him in the bank. parking.
National City Police arrived with doctors, who transported the victim to a local hospital where doctors determined he was dead.
Hours later, after 6 p.m., a member of the National City Police gang located the suspect in his car on National City Boulevard.
Police stopped him on East 16th Street, arresting the suspect at gunpoint without further incident.
