Low temperatures during the night cause a warning of strong freezing in the Victor Valley – VVNG.com

VICTOR VALLEY, California (VVNG.com) – Temperatures during the night will fall in all areas, and conditions of frost and freezing are expected on the coast, valleys and deserts, according to the National Meteorological Service.

The NWS said the solid freeze warning takes effect at 8pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, and will expire the next day at 8am.

“Take off your pants and blankets, it will be very cold tonight! The lowest ones go down significantly below [the] the seasonal average after our outgoing storm, ”says NWS.

According to the agency, temperatures below zero and up to 17 degrees are expected in the Victor Valley. Thursday night is not expected to be this cold, but still with temperatures below zero in most locations.

Frost and freezing conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing installations. IMMEDIATELY take steps to protect delicate plants from the cold. And be kind and bring pets indoors.

NWS suggests that the following be done to prevent freezing and possible rupture of external water pipes. “They should be wrapped, drained or allowed to drip slowly. Those who have sprinkler systems in the ground should drain them and cover the overhead pipes to protect them from freezing. ”
