Los Angeles jazz and blues legend Barbara Morrison died Wednesday at the age of 72. Morrison grew up on the outskirts of Detroit. Her father was a doo-wop singer, and she also sang during her younger years. Her albums included “I Know How to Do It” (1996) and “Visit Me” (1999). The Los Angeles legend spent more than a decade performing a Pip’s on La Brea Avenue, a jazz club in Mid-City as well as Leimert Park Village, where he opened the Barbara Morrison Center for the Performing Arts. She will be missed and will always be loved.
