Local pharmacist drives through snowstorm to deliver vaccine to Donegal family in need

Last year it wasn’t easy for the Blevins family. Paula Blevins said the family has been working tirelessly to limit the risk of COVID-19 for 34-year-old daughter Amanda. “For the past year, friends, family and relatives have come to this house. There is no such thing. ” Amanda Brevins has returned home and is receiving 24-hour care for multiple medical conditions. Blevins said Amanda is non-verbal and immobile. “Whenever I leave this house, I take a round-trip ambulance for $ 1,400,” Blevins said. When the COVID-19 vaccine was approved, Mr. Blevins at least began to consider finding an appointment. She searched for five weeks and eventually contacted state and local leaders. Last Tuesday, Mr. Blevins said he received an unexpected call. It was Ed Christophano from Hayden Pharmacy. I had just finished the vaccination clinic at the last minute. “Some people didn’t show up because of the weather and said they could get here in 15-20 minutes,” Blevins said. Christophano drove in the snow. I went to Blevins’ home in Donegol, Pennsylvania, and vaccinated Amanda and her parents. “He’s my hero. He appeared and said it was enough to give it to everyone,” Blevins said. Approximately 900 people were vaccinated at a clinic hosted by Hayden’s pharmacy that night after Christophano was surprised. According to Christophano, the pharmacy will receive a second vaccination on time and is currently scheduling their appointments. For the Blevins family, the special delivery was a welcome surprise and finally a chance to relax. Still, Blevins said. She knows that not everyone can ask for help as hard as she does, and that state officials will work harder to help those who may not be able to speak up. She said she wanted. If you bring the vaccine to people who are in the same situation as Amanda, that’s really important of what we’re doing here, “Blevins said.
