Today, an independent committee of local doctors participated in a virtual event to address the false information of COVID-19 raised by the general public at the County Oversight Committee on December 7.

The one-hour virtual session was open to the public for live viewing, and the three participating doctors dispelled misleading claims about COVID-19.

The panel was moderated by Dr. Eric McDonald, Chief Medical Officer of the County, and was attended by Dr. Sujanagunta of the Vista Community Clinic, Dr. Christian Lamars of the Family Health Center in San Diego, and Dr. Francesca Triani of the University of California, San Diego Health.

Since the virus was first identified here in San Diego, all three panelists have been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their discussion included the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine, treatment options, accuracy of the COVID-19 test, and other issues addressed at the supervisory board meeting.
