Anyone want to live in Los Angeles more? Add cabaret artist Larry David to the long list of celebrities who left La La Land for the small but ritzy, seaside enclave of Montecito, California, 85 miles up the coast. The 74-year-old Brooklyn resident has moved to a renovated four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathhouse, just blocks from the Pacific Ocean, after renovating the $ 5.7 million property in October.
The 2,858-square-foot Normandy-style house is close to the coast to get a nice sea breeze and is an easy walk to the various cafes and shops that are popular in the area.
David joins several A-listers in the affluent community where homeowners include Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, and, perhaps most notably, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Image: The serene backyard at Larry David’s new home.

The house has been recently renovated and has a ceiling with open beams and cozy stove in its main area.
Most of the rooms on the main level go out to the outdoor patio area and emerald lawn, which is lined with citrus trees.
The house was originally designed in the 1920s by the famous local architect George Washington Smith. Pictured: The charming kitchen of the house, complete with a butler’s pantry and stunning views of the garden.
David is best known for making the wildly successful sitcom Seinfeld from the 1990s – a show about ‘nothing’ – with his friend and fellow comedian Jerry Seinfeld, 67. He is currently starring in HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, where he has played a poorly tempered, eccentric. version of himself since 2000. Fans can get an even deeper look into David’s life during his two-part miniseries documentary ‘The Larry David Story’, which premieres on March 1 on HBO and HBO Max.
The new neighbors of David, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have been living in the community since they bought a nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom home in the secluded area of Riven Rock for $ 14.65 million by 2020.
The couple’s palatial residence (pictured), was built in 2003 and spans 10 acres. It was originally on the market in May 2014 for $ 36 million, but Harry and Meghan bought it only six years later for much less.
The estate of the former royal family has sweeping lawns, tiered rose gardens, tall Italian cypress trees, flowering lavender, centuries-old olive trees, a tennis court, tea house, children’s cottage, chicken coop and a swimming pool.
David’s new tomb – nestled in the ‘hedges’ – is about two miles away (photo) of Harry and Meghan.
The cabaret’s new primary suite has a large walk-in closet, as well as an en-suite bathroom, shower and bath.
The beautiful estate also has a formal dining room overlooking the lush garden.
Each of the three guest bedrooms comes with an en-suite bathroom, according to real estate listings. One of the bathrooms (pictured) also has a shower and Jack and Jill Sinks.
Montecito seems to have become more and more popular over the years because of its idyllic landscape and secluded houses. The city’s locals are notorious for ignoring the rich and famous, so David does not have to worry about projects or being asked to pose for photos. Pictured: David’s retreating backyard.
David’s new home is also near his longtime friend Julia Louis Dreyfus, 61, who owns a $ 5 million ‘eco-friendly’ renovated vacation home (pictured) on Miramar Beach, less than a mile away. David worked with Julia on Saturday Night Live before casting her as Elaine Benes on Seinfeld (1989-1998).
The 74-year-old comedian was previously married to ex-wife, writer and producer Laurie David, 63, with whom he shares two daughters – Romy, 26, and Cazzie, 27. The couple divorced in 2007.
David married in 2020 his second wife, Ashley Underwood, 37, (photo).
