A newly released video from a Los Angeles police officer’s body camera arrests a black man outside a Hollywood home in response to a report of a domestic violence in which a suspect is a white boyfriend of his neighbor. Shows two police officers who did.
Federal Justice of the Peace raises racial profiling and civil rights infringement raised by music producer Antone Austin (known as Tone Stackz) arrested in May 2019, even though he was not suspected of domestic violence. Call ordered the video to be released on Friday as part of the alleged proceedings. Austin and his girlfriend Michelle Miklevich were detained for resisting the arrest.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s law firm has filed with the court that it does not want to be released because the Los Angeles Police Department video “contrary to LAPD policy and may have a chilling effect on future LAPD investigations.” However, US Magistrate Judge Jacqueline Chorjan has agreed to publish an 11-minute video to the producer and his girlfriend’s lawyer.
Video footage shows that the two were physically detained by police in declaring Austin’s innocence. But it begins with anomalous approval that police officers were not convinced that Austin was the man cited in the call for domestic violence.
