Portland, Oregon — On Wednesday night, Felipe Mora defeated Los Angeles FC 2-1 to score a stop-time goal.
Diego Valeri started scoring the Timbers in the second minute with his 100th goal against Portland Portland (6-6-1, 19 points) and Season 2.
LAFC (6-5-3, 21 points) scored with Carlos Vela’s goal in the 16th minute and the fifth goal of the season.
Mora got off the bench in the 74th minute and scored in the scramble of both teams in the last moment.
The defeat recorded three consecutive LAFC wins.
The Timbers lacked defender Claudio Bravo and midfielder Eryk Williamson. Bravo is playing for Argentina at the Tokyo Olympics and Williamson is playing with the US team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
