Kings County K9 injured while trying to stop chase suspect

LEMOORE, California (KFSN) – A Kings County K9 is recovering from an injury while trying to subdue a suspect after being chased.

An MP tried to pull Leonard Jeff Sunday night in a rural area of the county. Jeff refused to stop, leading lawmakers to a chase.

He eventually stopped crossing Highway 198 on Highway 198 after Lemoore police helped develop “stop sticks” to deflate the car’s tires.

When Jeff refused to give up, the K9 Blues was used to help the man get into custody.

Jeff continued to resist and started hitting the Blues.

Authorities say the sheriff’s deputy was later forced to use his teaser to stop Jeff and hold him in custody.

He has been held in Kings County Jail for multiple charges.
