Green energy company plans massive growth in historic Richmond location

RICHMOND — The green energy company plans a major expansion at a historic site on Richmond’s waterfront following a new real estate deal, adding to its already large presence in the East Bay city.

Moccion Power had already leased most of the space in Ford Point’s historic mixed-use facility in October 2022. Moxion has now agreed to a second lease and will also build a large production center nearby, according to a broker for commercial real estate firm JLL.

A lease last year involving Moccion Power gave the green energy company 130,000 square feet of the Ford Point development, a sprawling complex of offices, commercial space and industrial land located on Richmond’s waterfront. could be leased.

In its latest deal, Moxion Power has leased 40,000 square feet of Ford Point for a facility it calls “Factory One.” JLL executives Mike Sample and Greg Matter arranged the lease.

JLL brokers said the company also agreed to an option to develop a brand-new production center adjacent to where it rented space at Ford Point. The total area of ​​this production center he will be 200,000 square feet.

Moxion Power develops mobile-enabled clean energy technologies for use in construction, film production, live events, and disaster response companies and organizations.

The company’s energy system is an all-electric system that replaces diesel generators. Moxion believes its products are more reliable than traditional mobile energy generation sources.
