A teenage boy detained on charges of attempted murder in Kilwinning was later charged with murder.
A 17-year-old boy from Kilwinning, who cannot be named for legal reasons because of his age, appeared in court last Thursday for a full trial hearing. [June 3] He was charged with the murder of 19-year-old Darryl Wright.
He was released on bail without entering a plea.

This follows an incident that occurred on Saturday, May 22, at about 2:30 am when police received reports of lane disruption behind the town’s Ladyford Avenue.
Paramedics attended and Darryl in the photo to the right of Coatbridge was taken to Crosshouse Hospital and died on Monday, May 24th.
A man from Kilwinning appeared in Kilwinning State Court on Tuesday, May 25, and was charged with attempted murder.
He will return to court at a later date.
