NORTH AIRSHIRE will have another side in the West Scottish Football League (WoSFL) next season after FC Eglinton approved the membership application.
Buck will join the fourth division of WoSFL next season, taking another step forward in his path.
The team played together last season under the Kilwinning Rangers AFC team, in the 2A amateur football division, taking a step to that level for the first time after being together under the ages of 19 and 21.
They will now take the name Eglinton FC, a non-existent former Kilwinning junior football club that has not existed since 1936 when they take a step forward.
The team will consist mainly of players who played for the team in the amateur divisions last year.
They will also be led by William Shearer’s familiar management team as first team manager and coaches Sammy Taggart and Stephen Forrest.
The club officially announced its arrival on the WoSFL stage with a statement on social media on Saturday.
They said: “FC Eglinton is officially accepted into the Football League of Western Scotland today!
“Any support is greatly appreciated, but this is just the beginning!
The journey is just beginning, so if you’re a player who wants to stretch, a business that wants to sponsor a trip and highlight their name, or someone who can come and pop up on our board, then touch on that. ”
The Jousters are one of six new teams to enter the fourth division next season, and applications for membership are also accepted by Easterhouse Academy, Rossvale Academy, Thorne Athletic, Threave Rovers and West Park United.
They are helping to create a lower league of 12 teams for next year, which will include several exciting trips – such as a field trip to meet Campbelltown’s students.
The full list of matches is due to be published tomorrow (Friday, July 1) for next season.
Although the new team knows they have one match ahead of them, it is a real baptism of fire as they were drawn to Polak in the first round of the Traderadiators.com Challenge Cup call south of Scotland.
