Kern Public Health launches Know Your Numbers program in Lost Hills

LOST HILLS, Calif. (KERO) – The Kern County Public Health Department launched the Know Your Numbers program Wednesday in Lost Hills.

The program, which aims to improve the health of residents, offers performances every Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 until September 7.

Free screenings include body mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol levels with a public health nutritionist before and after nutrition coaching and fitness classes.

Screenings will be held at the Wonderful Family Resource Center, 14848 Lamberson Ave., Lost Hills.

“We are grateful for The Wonderful Company’s partnership with Public Health as they bring the Know Your Numbers traveling program to the Lost Hills community,” said David Couch, Kern County Board of Directors District 4, in a statement.

“I encourage Lost Hills residents to participate in this free program to learn tips and tools for a healthier lifestyle.”

Other regional health initiatives include:

Certified Healthy, allowing residents to choose local restaurants that offer healthier food options. “Healthy Certified” restaurants have met our 10 nutritional criteria. To find Certified Healthy restaurants near you, download Kern Public Health’s free Safe Diner app.

Waste Hunger Not Food rescues healthy food from schools, restaurants and markets that would otherwise be thrown away and distributes it to those in need.
