Kern County Library will offer a free meal service at some branches

(KERO) — The Kern County Library (KCL) offers free meal service at some branches for the first snack of the Stacks program.

The Library, Kern County School Principal, and No Kid Hungry will begin serving dinner at the Wasco Branch Library, the Irvine Branch Library, and the Delano Branch Library in the week of August 2.

The Beer Memorial Library will start serving dinner on September 7th. Anyone between the ages of 2 and 18 can eat healthy from 3 pm to 5 pm, regardless of income, and there is space to complete their homework. Children and their families can learn how to use library materials for research, teaching materials, and learning tips to increase retention.

Last spring, KCL was one of the 10 national No Kid Hungry grant recipients.
