Assembly member Mike Gipson (D-64 District) hosted a press conference at the AB 1621 Ghost Gun press conference at the Sentinel headquarters in Los Angeles on Friday, April 15. Locals, community organizations and other public officials have focused their energy on the continuing rise of an epidemic of ghost weapons that plague black and brown communities in Los Angeles, California.

Speakers included Congressman Karen Bass, Los Angeles City Council member Karen Price, Brady’s campaign program manager Steve Lindley, Arvis Jones of Moms Demand Action, victims of gun violence Ricky Larbre and James E. Raysto and James E. Marx and Marx E. Marx and from the Baptist Church of the Gospel Mission.

“It’s not about people with weak hearts,” Gipson said as he opened the conference, looking at incidents of gun violence this week. He also noted that ghost weapons are the main cause of recent killings in black and brown communities.

“How many more brothers, sisters, neighbors, friends – we have to lose before the change comes,” Gipson asked.

Bass said: “I am here in solidarity with the representative, member of the assembly, chairman of the Caucasus Mike Gipson. Once again, I am here in solidarity with him, because his legislative experience on this issue and so many other issues related to public safety is unresolved, and I applaud you for the leadership you always take.

This is breaking news.
