For the third year in a row, Jewish Long Beach has launched a 36-hour fundraising challenge with up to $ 102,500 in cash equivalent.
The clock starts ticking at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29 during “36 Hours of Jewish Long Beach and Alpert JCC.” The money raised will benefit both Jewish Long Beach and the Alpert Jewish Community Center. The two entities merged to form a single agency.
This fundraising bombing is part of the biggest Dream With Us call, which offers community grants, leadership training, early childhood education, services for seniors and other programs that benefit Jewish life, according to a statement.
Jewish Long Beach serves the Jewish and wider communities by providing strategic grants, developing emerging leaders, advocating for and managing community philanthropic funds, Jewish Long Beach CEO Zach Benjamin said in a statement. The organization annually awards more than $ 500,000 in grants to nonprofits in Long Beach and West Orange County.
“This year, we’re doubling down on a $ 102,500 game that we got from some of our most committed followers to advance programs that serve Jewish and wider populations in Long Beach, West Orange County, and beyond,” he said.
Four families and an anonymous donor came together to provide the departure of up to $ 102,500. They are Amy and Rich Lipeles, Bernard Natelson and Lisa Raufman-Natelson, Sandy and Daryl Phillips, Shari and Lawrence Nemirow. Go to JewishLongBeach.org for more.
These 36 hours will end with a party: an Evening of Thanks, which this year is co-chaired by Alan Brawer and Lauren Friedman and will be held in person at the Weinberg Jewish Long Beach campus. From 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 30, Thanksgiving is a party with kosher food (hosted by L’Chaim Kosher Catering), live music and dancing, and the opportunity to celebrate it together in person, according to a statement.
Tickets for a Thanksgiving night cost $ 54. Go to events.idonate.com/36hours2022 or call 562-426-7601, ext. 1314.
