Jada Pinkett Smith: The World NEEDS Will Smith and Chris Rock to Reconcile

Jada Pinkett Smith has broken the silence.

To open her latest episode of Red Table Talk on Wednesday, the actress spoke for the first time about a particular incident at the 2022 Oscars.

A certain incident that almost broke the Internet and overshadowed everything else that happened that night, including her own husband, who won the first best male lead award ever.

Yes, we are talking about time Will Smith beat Chris Rock.

“Oscar night. My deepest hope is that these two smart, talented men will have the opportunity to heal, talk about it, and make a settlement,” Jada told the talk show audience, deepening and adding:

“In today’s world, we need both of them, and we all need each other more than ever.”

Jada didn’t need details, but the state of the world today is certainly unstable – between the war in Ukraine, several mass shootings in America, and general unrest.

However, it is unclear how the livelihoods of Will Smith and Chris Rock would help here.

Jada decided on Wednesday:

“Until then, Will and I will continue what we’ve been doing for the past 28 years – and it is [to] Find out about this thing called living together. Thank you for listening. “

The Wednesday episode of Jada’s Facebook series explores people’s stories of living with hair loss, an illness Jada has openly struggled with.

It led to the aforementioned reference to the Oscar gala, as Rock tore a bald star on the bald head on stage, causing Will Smith to get up from his seat and hit the comedian in the face.

Although this was the first time Jada had spoken publicly about the case, she has been open to the healing path for some time.

On March 29, just days after the Oscar gala, he shared an Instagram message that read:

“This is a season of healing, and I’m here for it.”

In the April 20 episode of Red Table Talk, he doubled this same broad theme as follows:

“Everything that has happened in recent weeks has focused on the deep recovery of the Smith family.”

Will Smoth, for his part, has apologized to Rock. (What we still can’t believe happened!)

In her statement on March 28, the actress said:

“The jokes at my expense are part of the job, but the joke about Jada’s illness was too much for me to endure and I reacted emotionally.

I’d like to apologize publicly to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. “

Smith added at the time:

“I am embarrassed and my actions did not show the man I want to be.

“There is no place for violence in the world of love and kindness.”

Rock, on the other hand, has avoided the topic in the last two months, but has made very quick and vague references to it during a few stand-up routines.

Finally, in response to the violent act, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences banned Smith from attending the Oscars the next 10 years.

“I accept and respect the decision of the Academy,” the superstar replied.

The news of the ban came a week after the 53-year-old resigned from the Academy, losing his right to vote at future Oscars.

“The list of people I’ve hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those present, and global audiences at home,” Smith said.

“I betrayed the Academy’s trust.”
