Irvine: Former Marymass Mary Chloe Robertson ‘thrilled’ to be elected

Excited former Marymas Mary Chloe Robertson celebrated another moment in the spotlight when she was elected to the North Ayrshire Council.

The 22-year-old former St. Matthew Academy student took a seat in the Irwin West House along with SNP party colleague Sean Macaulay when the results were announced on Friday.

Her party is the largest in North Ayrshire and Scotland.

She said: “I am very happy to have been elected. Many people are really concerned about the cost of living, and the SNP has a really great manifesto to tackle some of the challenges we face. ”

The new councilor was at the Royal Marimas Party in 2015 and said: “I also really enjoyed it and at that point I realized I wanted to do more for the community. There was also a great sense of community in St. Matthew’s Cathedral. ”

Asked why she ran for council, she said: “I was a member of the Scottish Youth Parliament from 2017 to 2019 and helped the community.

“The Scottish Parliament is a great stepping stone to learning new skills. I also helped campaign for Christina Larsen in North Ayrshire five years ago. ”
