Irvine crime: Police start foot patrols in Bourtreehill Park

Irwin police are stepping up patrols in one part of the city in response to residents’ concerns about anti-social behavior.

Scottish police officers Irwin Police Group are conducting a foot patrol in Burtrichil Park in response to public concerns.

Additional attention in the form of bicycle and transport patrols is also being paid to interact with residents and combat what police say has recently seen increased reports of antisocial behavior in the area.

In addition, a planned “Green Week” was organized for locals, which begins on Saturday, May 14, to encourage people to enjoy the nature of the area.

Recent juvenile delinquency, including juvenile alcohol use and related antisocial behavior, has raised concerns among locals, who fear that few will spoil the environment for most.

A police spokesman said: “Scottish police officers are working with partners, including the North Ayrshire Council’s Antisocial Behavior Group, to take action against those involved in the crime.”
