Investigators identify 3 people found dead inside home on Balboa Island in Newport Beach

Newport Beach, CA (KABC)-Investigators have identified three people found dead in a house on Balboa Island in Newport Beach.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Andrew Adams and Deserie Temple from Yorba Linda and 45-year-old Samantha Heymann on the riverside have been found dead.

They were found on 100 blocks of Diamond Avenue just before 8:30 am on Monday.

According to Lieutenant Keith Klarman of Newport Beach Police, another man seeking medical assistance was found injured and taken to the hospital. His condition is currently unknown, but he is expected to survive.

It was unknown how the victims died, and details of their injuries were not immediately announced. The relationship between the three is also unknown.

According to an investigator at the Newport Beach Police Department, it is suspected that illegal drug activity is involved.

“Currently, illicit drugs are suspected, and they usually contain fentanyl,” Klarman said during a Monday investigation. “It has not been confirmed to contain fentanyl, but with great care, treat it as if there was potential exposure inside.”

Krallman said an increasing number of cases were associated with overdose of fentanyl. The circumstances under which the body was found have not been revealed.

As of Monday afternoon, investigators have not determined this to be a murder.

Detectives believe that someone else was in the group within the last 24 hours.
