On Monday afternoon, a Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter was called in to assist in a motorcycle-related road accident north of Lake Pyramid, closing lanes on the northbound side of Interstate 5.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Clavig and Fire Department Captain Ron Haralson, the incident was reported in the north-facing lane of Interstate 5 south of Smoky Bear Road shortly before 2:00 pm.
According to Kravig, SigAlert was issued for all northward lanes of I-5 on Smoky Bear Road at around 2:15 pm for an unknown period due to the incident.
According to CHP Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesman for the CHP New Hall Regional Office, the vehicle involved in the car crash fled the scene and the CHP Officer tracked it with an I-5.
“The suspect’s car may have been pulled,” Greenguard said at 2:45 pm.
According to Haralson, the motorcyclist was airlifted to a local hospital of unknown degree of injury, and the motorcyclist was also arrested after the registration check of the motorcycle he was riding was stolen.
