Illegal sideshow draws crowd, police in Salinas

On Sunday night at around 8.30pm, an illegal walk fell behind a shopping center in As Salinas. Salinas police share that they are receiving several complaints about side shows in the area. Several residents say Sunday night’s party consisted of between 50 and 100 people in the back parking lot of the mall, just around the corner from East Blanco Road and South Main Street. Keno, a store employee who witnessed the incident, said: “A car was doing like a burn. So I had to stop and get everyone out, and then I went to the back of the parking lot. ” They say they are tired of hearing loud noises from car exhaust pipes and tire squeaks, and they want to see the police crack down harder. Although the Salinas police share this due to the low staffing, they are not able to respond as quickly as they would like, it is still a goal to put an end to them. They highlight everyone who participates, who can easily lose their car. “It doesn’t have to be when the secondary show is happening. We can get a court order that allows us to contact the owner of a vehicle registered later, and if we can identify the vehicle that participated, we can actually tow it,” said the PIO Police of Salinas, Miguel Cabrera.
