Bathers find running shoes washed up on California beach Police say it contained a human foot.

The person spotted the blue Saucony shoes on the beach at Richmond’s Point San Pablo Marina around 2:45 pm on Saturday, November 26th. Aaron Pomeroy said in an email to McClatchy News:

Pomeroy said that when beachgoers found the shoes, they contained what appeared to be human feet and bones.

Richmond police believe the human leg belonged to someone who died after jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge or Richmond San Rafael Bridge a few months ago.

The shoes were in good condition and were a size 6 or 7.

The race and gender of the human foot could not be immediately determined, but investigators are investigating possible missing persons, he said.

It is not uncommon for human body parts, such as fingers and feet, to wash up in the area due to the tides from the two bridges.

The foot has been turned over to the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office.

If you have information about the human foot, please contact Pomeroy at 510-620-6616 or submit an anonymous tip at 510-307-8177.

Richmond is about 20 miles north of San Francisco.
