Yelp says this brewery serves the best beer in California

Now Pure Project has five locations in and near San Diego that serve “small-batch craft beer.” Its Vista location was recognized by Yelp for serving the best beer in the state, according to a May 1 ranking.

Although the brews are no longer made in Costa Rica, Pure Project crafts beers inspired by the country’s “exotic ingredients, the tropical landscape, and the pura vida spirit of the country.”

Those ingredients led some Yelp reviewers to rave about the beer.

“The eclectic, unusual ingredients and unique collaborations lead to a finish ‘project’ not seen in other breweries nationwide,” one reviewer wrote.

The Vista brewery’s latest menu includes 21 beers on tap, though available beers on draft may differ by location.

“I feel that for the most part the beer options will please every palate, from light Pilsners, to hoppy IPAs, fruity hazys, or creamy stouts,” another reviewer said.

The company’s four other locations are in Balboa Park, Carlsbad, Miramar and North Park.

To find the best places for beer, the Yelp “identified businesses in the breweries category” and ranked them based on the “total volume and ratings of reviews.”
