The hospitalized driver died a few days after being seriously injured in two car accidents in Moreno Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a black Chiaforte collided with the red Toyota Matrix at the intersection of Russell Street and Xavier Street at about 3:25 pm on Sunday, July 25. The deputy sheriff released the seriously injured Toyota driver and sent him to the hospital.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver and passengers of Kia were found to be intact.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, accident investigators preliminarily believe that Kia was traveling south of Russell Street when it entered the intersection of Xavier Street at a red light. When Toyota was attacked by Kia, it turned left and headed north toward Russell Street.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, poisoning was not considered the cause of the crash.
On Wednesday, accident investigators learned that Toyota drivers had died from their injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The identity of the deceased Toyota driver will not be disclosed until further investigation and notification to relatives.
