Firefighters in Northbridge, Massachusetts battled a multi-alarm fire that destroyed a historic home built in 1800. The fire broke out before 4 a.m. Friday at the home on Lindwood Avenue in Northbridge. Passing through the historic house built by the owners of the town mill in 1800, someone spotted flames coming out of the building and called 911. Video from the scene showed flames firing from the top floors of the Victorian-style house. Neighbors told the WCVB the house was once a restaurant and bed & breakfast. A firefighter was injured when part of the roof collapsed, injuring his shoulder. Officials said the house was a total loss. The causes of the fire are being investigated.
