Highway 146 paving project near Soledad continues with closures next week – Salinas Valley Tribune

SOLEDAD – Travelers on Highway 146 east of Soledad will experience traffic control and a full roadway closure next week as a pavement rehabilitation project continues to move forward.

Highway 146 is the main road from Soledad to the west entrance of Pinnacles National Park.

On Monday, July 25, Tuesday, July 26 and Thursday, July 28, travelers will experience the full closure of Highway 146 from the intersection of Highway 146 and Ramus Highway east to the entrance to Pinnacles National Park. Total closing hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m

Emergency vehicles and the staff of the National Park will be able to pass through these three days of total closure.

On Monday, July 25, Tuesday, July 26, Wednesday, July 27 and Friday, July 29, travelers will encounter one-way traffic on Highway 146 from the east edge of Soledad at Rubion Drive and continuing east to Ramus Road. One-way traffic control hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m

Commuters can expect delays of up to 10 minutes. Message signs and directions will be posted to alert drivers.

“This paving project is part of the necessary roadway rehabilitation, which will improve the safety of all travelers,” according to Caltrans in a press release.
