Highway 146 paving project east of Soledad begins Monday – Salinas Valley Tribune

SOLEDAD – Passengers on Highway 146 east of Soledad will experience traffic control and a total road closure for one day next week as a paving project progresses from Monday, July 11 to Thursday, July 14.

Highway 146 is the main road that runs from Soledad to the western entrance of Pinnacles National Park.

July 11-13: Travelers will find a one-way traffic control from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. along a 5-mile stretch of Highway 146, from the east edge of Soledad on Rubion Drive and continuing east to Ramus Road. Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

By July 14: Travelers will find a total closure of 3.75 miles of Highway 146 from Ramus Road to the western boundary of Pinnacles National Park from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Emergency vehicles and National Park staff they will be able to go through the closing on Thursday.

Signs and directions will be placed to alert travelers.

The paving project is part of the necessary road maintenance to improve the safety of all commuters, Caltrans said.
