HESPERIA, California (VVNG.com) – The Hesperia Police Department has issued law enforcement advice for those driving off-road vehicles (OHVs) in restricted areas.
Authorities said the implementation was due to an increased number of service calls, reports of property damage, possession problems and OHV-related collisions.
Citizens and visitors to Hesperia are reminded that the work of OHV of any kind is prohibited in the city of Hesperia and MPs will contact those who violate city regulations as well as the California Vehicle Code.
OHV enthusiasts who are residents as well as those who visit the area are encouraged to seek the legal driving opportunities available to them. Violators risk quoting and confiscating vehicles for not following the rules.
Information on legal riding zones can be found by contacting Hesperia Sheriff’s Station, the OHV team, or visiting the California State Parks and Land Management Bureau websites.
The Hesperia station off-road vehicle escort team will increase its patrols and enforcement efforts in targeted areas within the city limits.
Deputies will conduct a permanent, random implementation, contact violators, as well as tenants who allow the gathering and staging of OHV groups on their property.
Residents will be educated on applicable OHV-related laws and receive information on legal driving opportunities within the county.
All questions can be directed to Hesperia Station, Attention, Sergeant J. Rizzardi (760) 947-1500.
