Here’s a guide to Fourth of July festivities in Monterey County

July 4th is a time to celebrate the birth and independence of the nation. Americans celebrate the holidays with samples of red, white, and blue, barbecues in the garden, and elaborate fireworks displays.
For those who want to go outside to celebrate, here are some parties happening in Monterey County:
Splashes
Spreckles is once again hosting a July 4 celebration at Memorial Park.
Food stalls, drinks, games, live music, a sample of antique cars and children’s play areas are just some of the activities people can expect. The event will take place from 10 to 16 hours in the park.
Loneliness
The whole family is invited to join the annual celebration of July 4 and the Soledad fireworks show on Monday at the Soledad Little League Park from 12:00 to 21:00.
Entertainment includes food stalls, games and prizes for all ages, magic creations and balloons, and live performances by Patty Kistner Band and La Tumbadora Banda Del Rancho.
Children are encouraged to dress up their “best star” and take part in a parade on foot at noon.
The queue for the parade begins at 11:30 a.m. at Main Street School. Participation is free.
Monterey Fisherman’s Wharf
There’s nothing like spending Independence Day at Monterey’s iconic Fisherman’s Wharf.
New this year is the free performance by the Loma Linda String Orchestra from 3 to 4 p.m. in front of the Rockfish Harbor Grill.
“Uncle Sam” will also be handing out a free American flag-themed candy in front of Candy World from 12 to 5 p.m.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the view of the beach and have a planet of photo opportunities with fun Independence Day decorations.
Alvarado Street, Monterrey
The Monterey July 4th parade will be the center of attention this year, attracting visitors from near and far to see some floats, cars, fire trucks and artists.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. on the corner of Alvarado and Perla streets. The parade will be followed by the free grill Big Little Backyard and Entertainment City Extravaganza from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Colton Hall Lawn on Pacific Street.
Entertainment will include live band food vendors, children’s games, inflatable houses, face painting and balloon artists.
Monterey, Pancake Breakfast
Residents can begin their vacation morning with Monterey firefighters for a pancake breakfast to raise charities from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Family activities include arts and crafts for children, face painting, music, and the opportunity to meet local firefighters and sit in the fire truck.
Breakfast will be held at Colton Hall Lawn.
Reservations are required and tickets cost $ 12.50.
Pacific Grove
A July 4 Drive and Dine event will be hosted by the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce in downtown Pacific Grove from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will feature patriotic decorations throughout the downtown area, live music, a Pacific Grove T-shirt raffle, restaurant promotions and outdoor children’s activities.
Carmelo by the sea
Residents are invited to a family-style Independence Day celebration and concert in Devendorf Park, opposite Carmel Square.
Pops from Monterey County! He is scheduled to return with his 38-member orchestra for a 90-minute show starting at 2 p.m.
There will be marching music and the concert will include blues, jazz, rock and Latin music.
Celebrations will be from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
