Granite Hills High School teacher accused of ‘very disturbing’ sexual misconduct

Grossmont Union High School District is investigating “very worrying” allegations of sexual harassment by a Granite Hills High School teacher, the district said Tuesday night.

Local officials said in a press release that they reported the allegations to law enforcement and Child Protection Services and put the teacher on leave.

“There is nothing more important than the safety of our students,” the district said in a statement. “Whenever allegations of misconduct are made, the district takes these allegations very seriously.”

If the district finds that indecent misconduct has occurred, it will discipline the teacher until termination.

The district did not disclose details about the teacher or the alleged misconduct. In a press release, the district said it would not comment further at this time “in order not to obstruct ongoing investigations and to preserve the privacy rights of all those involved.”

Granite Hills High School is located in El Cajon and enrolls approximately 2,400 students.
