Google’s 2021 Year in Search: This year’s top trending searches released

New York-Over the past year, Americans have asked Google for updates on the Gabby Petito incident, news about the death of rapper DMX, and NBA highlights.

according to it Annual summary of Google search trends, Released on Wednesday morning. It looks back at trillions of searches in the United States over the last 12 months and investigates topics that have continued to grow in interest compared to the previous year.

Last year, the “coronavirus”, as expected, surpassed the global trend search list and dominated much of the US list. This year, the world’s most popular searches were more sports-focused. “Australia vs India”, “India vs England”, “IPL”, “NBA” and “Euro 2021” ranked in the top five.

In the United States, news and politics got more attention. “NBA,” “DMX,” “Gabby Petito,” “Kyle Rittenhouse,” and “Brian Laundrie” were the top five terms searched in the country.
The American mind was also in money: Mega Millions, AMC stocks and stimulating checks were ranked 6th, 7th and 8th respectively in the overall search. Google employees wanted to know “how to be subject to stimulus checks,” and when amateur investors worked to send cryptocurrencies “to the moon,” they soared and searched for “Dogecoin.”
