GM Recalls Almost 700,000 Chevy Equinoxes and GMC Terrains Again Over Rusty Wipers

This little guy is being recalled for rusty wiper balls.

Normally, when a vehicle is recalled by its manufacturer, it is subjected to the prescribed repair and that’s the end of the story. But sometimes it doesn’t go so smoothly. This is the case with the 2014-2015 wipers Chevy Equinox and GMC terrainbeing recalled because of rusty ball joints.

GM is making another attempt to fix the problems it had with Terrain and Equinox originally recalled in 2016 for 2013 models have the same problem. It seems odd that the company hasn’t addressed the root cause of the problem in subsequent model years, but here we are. This time, 681,509 terrains and equinoxes are affected.

To fix this problem, your Chevrolet or GMC The dealer will inspect the vehicle’s wiper module and replace it if they find corrosion. Like all recalls, it is free. GM anticipates that owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail on or about May 2, 2022.
