George Takei Suggests Americans Endure Higher Prices for Ukraine

George Takei believes that Americans must be prepared to tighten their belts and shoulders swollen at the box office for solidarity with Ukraine – but he is somehow enthusiastic about the proposal.
Star Trek acted on Twitter on Friday with his feelings and wrote … “Americans: We can tolerate higher food and gas prices if it requires tightening screws Putin. Regard it as a patriotic donation in the fight for freedom from tyranny. “
Sounds innocent enough – the fact is that as a result of this conflict and sanctions, inflation is sure to rise President Biden has ordered … whether we like it or not.
If anything, it sounds like GT is telling people to take a better view, rather than suggesting them to act on it … because frankly, there’s not much to do right now. Now, as you can imagine … some embrace his idea, but others reject it.
George Takei ($ 14 million in net worth) told Americans in financial difficulty that we should pay more for gas and supplies because of a conflict that doesn’t concern us, the pinnacle of elitism

The setback … namely, that George is a rich celebrity, and he becomes a little deaf here by telling ordinary people to take part for a good cause – at least in the eyes of his critics. It basically sounds like an elitist POV (to them) … and talking to “little people.”
The big picture … this debate is turning rich vs. poor, which is a raging debate in this country – because it seems that the hatred towards the 1%, which many think could / should be more involved in helping society, is growing. . In this case, George is in the receiving case.
This guy is a multimillionaire. If you live on a small budget, you can’t afford to twist Putin.
George Takei doesn’t care because this doesn’t hurt him. But he wants you to do your patriotic duty. https://t.co/h02r6bUNfm

Of course, the flip side of this is … who the hell knows what George might already be doing and / or donating to help Ukraine? He might be pouring tons of money and other resources into an effort without anyone knowing – and if so, would he still be considered a luxurious snob in an ivory tower? To be honest … probably not.
More importantly, higher prices will no doubt affect him as well. Yes, it certainly hurts some more than others, but when the economy is squeezed … it really isn’t ideal for anyone.
