“I’ve always felt safe here,” one shopper in San Diego told FOX5.

Westfield UTC is an upscale shopping plaza just north of downtown San Diego.

This outdoor mall is known for its designer and affordable brands, as well as public art exhibits.

Not only are the malls home to Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès and Kate Spade, but Westfield UTC has fine dining and dining options.

The San Diego mall incident came less than 48 hours after thieves raided a Chanel store in Los Angeles, removing an unknown number of items.
