Galaxy’s Sebastian Lletget apologizes for anti-gay slur – San Bernardino Sun

Major League Soccer said Galaxy Sebastian Lletget is investigating the use of anti-gaysler in videos deleted from Instagram accounts.

In the video, Lletget walks behind his teammate Julian Araujo and uses a slur to playfully hit him behind his neck.

In a statement to Out Sports, 28-year-old Galaxy Midfielder said: “I removed the video from the Instagram story, but I don’t want to deal with its impact and hide it. I take full responsibility and responsibility for the very poor and well-thought-out wording, and there is no excuse for my actions. I’m sorry, but I know the pain that this term has caused to many.

“I want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem, and I want to remain an LGBTQ + community supporter and ally. Whoever knows me is me I know my personality and heart. I remain open in my support and advocacy. My error does not change it.

“Thank you for your accountability. I should do it and need to be better.”

Major League Soccer has said it has launched a “formal investigation” and will provide more information as it becomes available.

The Galaxy said in a statement: “LA Galaxy does not tolerate any kind of homophobia or derogatory language. The club stands on the side of the LGBTQ + community and addresses this issue internally.”

Galaxy will have a regular season at Inter Miami CF on April 18th.
