Free entry to Pinnacles National Park this Wednesday

Pinnacles National Park in South Monterey County will be free this Wednesday. August 25th is a free day for all visitors to national parks across the country. This will be held to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the National Parks Authority. Since the entrance fee is exempted on the day, the Pinnacles may be crowded, so please come early to enter the park building or crowded outdoor area or bring a mask. If you are planning a hike, bring at least 1 liter of water per person per hour to the park. Pinnacles actually existed before the existence of the National Parks Authority itself. It was first designated as a national monument in 1908, eight years before the 1916 NPS Organic Law, which founded the National Parks Authority, was enacted.
