Foodie Friday: JAX’s Burgers, Fries and Shakes

A new burger spot has opened a store in the Square.

JAX Burgers, Fries and Shakes offers classic American dishes including burger, chicken and french fries.

This new San Marcos restaurant has its roots in Texas with the first restaurant opening in the spring of 2010. Square is the only location outside of the Houston area.

“The family-owned and functional burger serves the best ‘special’ beef blend, crispy potatoes and amazing shakes.” says JAX on its website. “We are proud of the excellent customer service and we always look forward to serving the locals wherever we are. Please stop today and enjoy the best hamburgers in Texas. “

What to get:

We had to try the JAX burger when we visited.

I chose the Baja burger ($ 10), which is accompanied by a hearty and juicy burger with bacon, jalapeños, mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and American cheese on toasted sesame bread.

This was a huge burger. Everything was nice and tasty. Bacon and jalapeños went well with mayonnaise and mustard in combination with vegetables. If you visit JAX’s, Baja burger is worth a try.

My partner went for lunch with the classic JAX cheeseburger. This burger comes with a meat burger ($ 8), but you can also try it with double meat ($ 12) or triple meat ($ 16). The classic burger is served with mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and American cheese.

My dining companion was impressed with his burger, saying he would return to try more of the JAX menu.

We shared an order with Cajun potatoes to complete our meal ($ 3.50). JAX’s also has parmesan garlic potatoes and JAX potatoes. You can also get onion rings.

JAX has many hamburger options to choose from. Try the shroom burger, which is accompanied by grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mayonnaise and Swiss cheese.

There is also the barbecue bacon burger ($ 8) – served with mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, American cheese.

If you are not in the mood for a burger, JAX has a BBLT sandwich, which is accompanied by bacon, bleu cheese, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes.

Are you looking for a meal offer? JAX’s has the Bobcat Special for $ 11, which comes with a half-pound burger, chips and a drink.

The burger spot also has chicken options. You can try the grilled chicken burger with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes and Swiss cheese ($ 8). There is also a crispy chicken burger served with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes ($ 8). JAX’s also offers tender chicken with potatoes ($ 9).

At the time of our visit, shakes were not available. But we were told that the shakes will soon be available on the menu with your choice of 20 ounce vanilla, chocolate or strawberry ($ 5) shakes.
