A 34-year-old Fontana man died in a car crash on Interstate 15 in Fontana in the early hours of March 18, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 2:45 a.m., the man was driving a 2019 Hyundai heading south on I-15, north of Beech Avenue. At the same time, a large international trailer of 2019 was stopped on the right shoulder of the I-15 heading south, with two passengers sleeping in the dormitory.
For some obscure reason, the driver of the Hyundai vehicle turned right, going off the road and into the right shoulder and crashed into the right rear of the trailer. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Hyundai sustained injuries received and was found dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The two persons on the large platform remained unharmed.
The cause of this event is under investigation.
The name of the deceased is being kept pending the notification of the relatives.
