Ricardo Sandoval, Fontana’s engineering director, has retired after serving 35 years with the city.
Sandoval was honored during a ceremony at the City Council meeting on April 26th.
He began his career with the city in 1987 as an assistant civil engineer and held several different positions before taking up the title of director in 2005.
City leaders praised Sandoval, who helped oversee the construction of four highway junctions and other major highway improvements to Fontana during his tenure.
“I appreciate the opportunity I have been given,” Sandoval said. “It was a lot of fun.”
He also thanked his “wonderful” staff and family members.
