According to San Diego Lifeguards, a fisherman looking for a red-spotted shrimp near Sunset Cliffs found a corpse floating in the water on Friday.
Lieutenant Ronnie Stevens, a San Diego lifeguard, said the male victim was completely dressed and his age was unknown. The deceased man was found on Ladella Street and Sunset Cliffs Boulevard around 6:30 pm.
“It’s dark and there are no other details,” Stevens said. “There are many unknown situations surrounding the incident.”
The San Diego Police Department and the Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of a man. He has not been identified yet.
According to Stevens, the man who found the body was a hoop net of red-spotted shrimp from the coast of the area, an activity permitted in the area of Sunset Cliffs.
