Fire displaces residents, spreads to vegetation near home

CAMPO (CNS) – Two adults and four pets were evacuated on Wednesday as the fire damaged the house and spread to the surrounding vegetation in a very dry and windy environment.

CalFireCapt. Thomas Shoots said an intact fire broke out on 2048 Buckman Springs Road at around 4:50 pm for unknown reasons.

“The vegetation around the house was threatened as strong winds and embers broke out of the building’s fire,” said Chute.

California Department of Forestry and Cleveland National Forest officials stayed on site to contain the flames in 50 x 50 feet of vegetation around the house and prevent relapse.
