Border Patrol agents on duty in a remote, rugged area of ​​Dulzura heard gunshots near them on Friday, prompting a search of several services.

Agents were on patrol when shots were heard around 2pm, according to US Customs and Border Protection public relations. It was not clear if the agents had been targeted and no known injuries had been reported, officials said.

CBP investigators went to the rural area to investigate and search for the unknown sniper or shooters, with the help of the FBI, San Diego Police Department and San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

No arrests or suspects were made until late in the afternoon.
