RAINBOW (KUSI) – Firefighters fought the Aruba fire, and on Monday the evacuation order for residents near Rainbow was lifted.
The crew burned 54 acres and stopped the fire in the rainbow, which was 60% contained, said Captain Francrococo of Calfire San Diego, who joined KUSI’s Logan Byrnes in the evening of San Diego.
“We will work today, and perhaps tomorrow, but (the situation) looks good,” Rococo said.
Earlier reports said the fire burned an estimated 100 acres, 15% of which was contained. CFSD reported that these numbers were modified for better mapping.
A forced evacuation order has been issued to some residents in the southeastern part of Rainbow near Rainbow Crest Road and Modigan Lane.
According to the CFSD, a temporary shelter was set up at Balletitos Elementary School on 5211 Fifth Street in Fallbrook.
A representative of the San Diego County Sheriff assisted the evacuation of the inhabitants.
According to the California Department of Forestry and Conservation, the wildfire broke out around 4:15 pm on Sunday.
