Emergency repairs to fully close River Road near Gonzales in August – Salinas Valley Tribune

GONZALES – Monterey County Public Works is warning travelers of a full closure of River Road at Fairview Road near Gonzales beginning Tuesday, August 2.

The closure, which will last until the month of August, is necessary so crews can repair the culvert under the roadway. There is a diversion route around the construction site.

Travelers should take Highway 101 South to Arroyo Seco via Fort Romie Road to River Road. Northbound will take Highway 101 North to Gonzales Exit 310 to Alta Street via Gonzales River Road to River Road.

Drivers should expect an additional travel time of up to 20 minutes. Indicative signs and messages will be posted to alert travelers.

“Please allow extra time for your travel around the area,” Public Works said in a press release.
