Elk Grove actress stars in new Lifetime movie ‘Sins in the Suburbs’

A Sacramento actress starred in a new film that will debut this Saturday. “I can not even begin to describe how excited I am to be able to share my acting and storytelling with everyone across the country at the same time,” said Monique Sypkens. He grew up in Elk Grove and started playing as a child. Her first project was high school for Bayside Church in southern Sacramento. Sypkens recalls thinking, “This is exactly what I’re supposed to do for the rest of my life … I’m supposed to be pretending and helping people.” Jerry and Rose Spikens’s parents always knew that Franklin High School graduate was meant to be on screen. Going to photography and all that. And it all worked. He never gave up. “She worked day and night for years and years and years after that,” Jerry said. “Although she knows the success, she says she almost quit acting last summer.” I was so discouraged and so tired of auditioning and feeling like no one saw me. My mom talks to me, ‘Listen to this for seven years which is nothing.’ “And a month later I closed this movie,” he said. Sins in the Suburbs premieres Saturday at 8 p.m. in Lifetime.

Although she is successful, she says she almost stopped acting last summer.

“I was so discouraged and so tired of auditioning and feeling like no one saw me. My mom says, ‘Listen to this for seven years which is nothing.’ And a month later I closed this movie.” , he said.
